Joe Biden is president. This doesn't feel as good as it should. I am a cynic, you can't expect me to be happy. OK? Joe Biden may be delusional, but he's not a complete lunatic. He has already done some good things like expanding the eviction moratorium and the U.S. is back in the Paris Agreement. He has also discontinued the muslim ban. This is good news. He's no Bernie Sanders but at least he's not a mad man.
Orange Buffoon didn't pardon Rudy or his family but pardoned Steve Bannon who allegedly stole from Buffoon supporters saying his organization would build the wall. Buffoon also pardoned Lil Wayne and another rapper, random. Apparently people in the Whitehouse were selling pardons. He didn't pardon himself or his family because he was incorrectly told he'd have to list out the crimes. Farron Cussins isn't sure if the lawyers didn't know the law or deliberately tricked Buffoon. What is his future? I expect he to be in legal trouble and will probably pay fines instead of going to prison, which is unfortunate but he's at least thought of as rich. I also expect some bankruptcies. I can't wait. If Melania has brains (which is unlikely) she'll divorce him before the banks get to him. I think that she may do it but more because she can't stand him. I'll report on his misfortunes but want to limit my Buffoon coverage as I am done with him. George W Bush attended the inauguration, let's not forget he should be in prison for war crimes. Clinton and Buffoon had ties to Epstein, even if they didn't do anything criminal these are also not good people. Of course Orange Buffoon is repulsive but let's not pretend Bill Clinton is a good person; the guy enacted neoliberal policy in office and the guy is trash. I don't think Orange Buffoon is the worst president, only if you are counting specific metrics. Regan was the worst regarding economics and W Bush was the worst on foreign policy. Groups of Buffoon supporters stormed the Capitol. I call them Redneck Lives Matter. Only there were pipe bombs, what B.L.M. Protest had pipe bombs? Luckily they didn't go off. Five people died. Some were chanting "Hang Mike Pence". Some stole from offices inside the building. A few police assisted the mob. Certification of the election was interrupted. Also it was interrupted by senators several times. Senators were questioning the results. Since Republicans like to question basic facts like climate change and the results of the election, perhaps they would like to question gravity and jump off a bridge.
Orange Buffoon has since been banned from social media platforms. For people crying censorship he has a press room in his house, networks will cover him and articles covering what he says will be shared on social media. Many right wingers would say that they want private corporations to do whatever they want. This is the result of it. Capitalism just bit you in the ass. As for the fringe left saying censorship will fuck us, censorship already fucks you. Making the case for Orange Buffoon will do nothing. Corporations hate the left regardless. I do think that there's a valid case for world leaders to be on social media but obviously the companies think that he's too toxic. Democrats are threatening a second impeachment if the cabinet doesn't invoke the 25th Amendment, which they won't. Waiting is unnecessary. Parler, also known as Nazi Twitter also was shut down by its hosting company Amazon. My question is wasn't it hosted in a offshore location like Russia? If I was C.E.O. it wouldn't be shut down. Jimmy Dore wanted a vote on Medicare For All. He wanted Progressives to withheld their vote for speaker if the speaker doesn't agree. I thought this was an reasonable suggestion, until I realized this is pointless. His reasoning is flawed. He says Co sponsors of the bill wouldn't vote for it if it actually has a chance of passing, but it has no chance of passing due to people like Joe Manchin. Biden also said he would veto the bill. People could just vote for it anyway knowing it has no chance of passing. Besides there's many other votes that you could assess to tell who's a corporatist. You don't need to do this. It's worthy to try to get concessions out of Nancy Pelosi but this is pointless, make your demands something worthwhile. Dore is calling AOC a fake progressive because she won't force the vote. Maybe she just thinks the strategy is idiotic. I am trying not to attack Jimmy here, not because he's the reason I went to TYT studio. I liked Jimmy at one time, but I disagree with at least half of what he has to say now. At one point I really liked his commentary, that point passed long also. One of the reason I can't stand the Greens in New Zealand is they're no longer radical. They're mediocre, boring, don't fight for shit. Jimmy is radical, but we need radicals on the left even if we disagree with them. Although I wish his tactics was more productive. Orange Buffoon pointlessly committed a felony telling the governor of Georgia to "find votes". The election was already certified. The only way to throw out states would be to get the Senate and House to agree, which is very unlikely. Maybe if Bernie Sanders was president elect right wing Democrats would consider this. The Electoral College voted, Biden is still president elect. Now if I was Buffoon I'd just blackmail or bribe the electors. I'd definitely not have Rudy part of my as my defense team. The Buffoon administration is literally trying to do a coup, well I guess this makes a change from the US doing coups on other nations. Buffoon has fired the Secretary of Defense and numerous Pentagon officials have been fired. The Secretary of State has publicly stated they're staying on, while Pence has stated this privately. This is very concerning but ultimately I think that they will fail because they'll all are so incompetent.
There's a way they could legitimately steal the election due to the Electoral College. All a governor has to do is put in their own electors. If enough governors do this, democracy is gone. One governor has signaled that they may do this. However the thing about Joe Biden, he's a Republican! He may call himself a Democrat but he's practically a moderate Republican apart from some social issues. I'd be more worried if Bernie Sanders took over, the establishment probably would be more likely to do a coup in this way. I currently give a coup a 10% chance of happening. I called the US election hours ago on my personal Facebook. The result is half decent. Biden won and the difference was under 2% in many swing states. The result looks final and it's insane that they haven't called it.
He ran against an moronic fascist. Winning by less than 2% is appalling. He should be embarrassed, along with the American people. Red states would probably elect Hitler. There I said it. The fact that 45% of the voting population is comfortable with an incompetent buffoon as president speaks volumes. Combined with the cannabis cluserfuck in New Zealand I have no faith in democracy, none! If the Green Party was more visible who knows what would have happened! Biden needed a better message on the economy and health-care. If Democrats don't do better messaging in 2024 they will lose. Buffoon's lawyers are complete clowns, judges have thrown most of their cases out. I'm not concerned about a 2000 like court case. I could be wrong but it doesn't seem viable. Usually I don't comment on NZ politics but recently I reviewed TOP's policies. Well some of them. My conclusion is it is a party for the rich impersonating a party for the poor. Firstly it has a flat tax, end of conversation. This means excluding deductions a person on 20k would pay the same tax per dollar as a person on 130k. It has a UBI, I'm in favour of it but in this case it's a trojan horse. Furthermore the trouble with giving everyone the same amount is that some people have increased living expenses like people with disabilities, does it account for that? Furthermore if we need UBI due to technological induced unemployment, well you can't live on $200/week.
As as for Act's advertisements on YouTube, sorry but tone deaf! Who fucking cares about the debt? People are worried about covid and jobs, not government debt. By the way the government they were in racked up 60 billion of debt, they can shut the fuck up about the debt. Nobody should take right wingers seriously about the debt. They do the same thing and mostly they do it worse! I've learned the debt goes up and goes down, the right goes ape shit to fear monger and frankly they don't want the government to actually help people, at least not as much as the left. Historically the left pays it down. The right can fuck off. I know Act's policies are not National's ; Act's policies fuck the poor much more. Joe Biden picked Karmala Harris as his running mate. This is not surprising, or exciting. She's a corporatist. If you're exciting about it being a woman, congratulations, I guess. From a policy perspective I'd rather it be Elizabeth Warren. Then again her political instincts sucked, but she still lasted longer than Harris. Hopefully Harris will mean the African American community will vote for Biden despite his occasionally gaffes. His latest was saying something like Latino communities have different standards than African American communities. I don't know what the fuck that means. Shut up Joe. Stay quiet and you'll probably be elected. This is not to suggest African Americans will only vote Democrats if there's someone representing them on the ticket, but it is certainly important for some.

However to combat this Americans should request and send in their ballots as early as possible. More importantly the latter assigns complete clowns to positions, the people wouldn't be as incompetent on the other side, this is important. If you want to minimize damage, the choice is clear. What's weird to me is there's at least 100,000 deaths in the US by Coronavirus but it was one death that set the protests off. I'm also not sure protesting during a pandemic is a very good idea, protesting in other countries makes even less sense.

Full lock down is ending in New Zealand next week. I think that this is probably a mistake as cases continue to rise. I want the lock down to end but I don't want to go back a full look down if cases spike, that would be worse. Until effective treatment is available this is what's going to happen.
Regarding a vaccine I'm no longer convinced it'll be a silver bullet, it may be but what we need is treatment. There's not really news. I'm growing more frustrated by this. I'm fine with not going out but like concerts and going to other cities. Buffoon supporting idiots are defying the lock downs by protesting. They will cause an extension of the lock downs by doing so. It has also been suggested that you let the virus spread to most of a country for a month. However this is a very stupid idea, you'll kill a fuck lot of people by doing so even if you isolate most of the susceptible ones, you'll also cripple the medical system, recovered people may have long term health problems too. There's also no guarantee people can't be reinfected. The news is all Coronavirus now, it's a bit boring. I may do a post next week otherwise I'm thinking bi monthly or monthly. | |||

Bernie Sanders drops out, I am not surprised. Joe Biden now has a sexual assault allegation against him. I don't know if it's true but the mainstream media isn't investigating it. New Zealand where I live shouldn't be in panic mode yet, but things may change. The United States didn't have the right test for a few weeks, so they fucked that up and who knows what will happen. Again it's very important to keep infected people away from countries for as long as possible, that's how you avoid a crisis. Infections in some major areas have slowed and the virus has mutated to a less dangerous version but only 30% of infections is that specific version currently, that's at least some good news. If you even suspect that you have the virus, go and get tested and stay away from people. I'm delaying my international trips until a vaccine is out. | |||
